W00T FOR GAME 7!!!!

Location | Taichung

Well… after a struggle… PISTONS WON GAME 6 AND NOW WE’RE MOVIN’ON TO GAME 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN WE SAY… JOY TO THE WORLD!?

I was watching the game while my grandma and the dog were napping… so I could yell and scream at the TV, but it was fun jumping up and down and chanting in my head for the Pistons to win.

Hmm, first game 7 in 11 years!!! How crazy!!!! Pistons sure know how to get the crowd going. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, Taiwan has been fun thus far. I’ve been eating tons of good food and of course, good shopping!!!!!

Ok, so I really don’t have anything poetic to say… so byeee.

I’m Here!

Location | Taichung

Well here I am in Taichung. This is gonna be a short entry because I wanna eat my breakfast and I also wanna watch the Pistons game. GO DETROIT!!!

Anyway, I had a nice flight here — right next to this hot guy — and I haven’t gotten sick yet *crosses fingers* but I’ve also been taking lots of multivitamins. I found .38mm pens, but they’re more like the kind that Eu-chan likes…

I’m gonna go eat. More later.

Anyway, I got 2 more of Takeshi’s movies, Lavender and Downtown Torpedoes (wooo Jordan AND Takeshi!!). I really want to get Chungking Express… but I have one problem: I CAN’T FIND IT!… Someone… find it… for me… I want it for my birthday… THAT EVERYONE MISSED ON MAY 21ST.

Well… I’ll be rolling around in my goodies from Taiwan soon… so you should all come and see all the crap I managed to drag home… WAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR…

Aw Shitter…

Location | Taichung

Aww shitter. I just wrote this long ass entry and then I accidentally turned off the computer in Chinese… wtf does that mean? I have no idea.

Anyway, these are my wonderful glamour shots. Click on “Glamour Shots” and “Glamour Shots 2.”

Tomorrow is my last day in Taiwan. Let me do the sentimental thing I wrote before…

I’ll never forget the shopping, the mass transportion, the food, and the people. I’ll be trying to forget the weather, the mutated gigantic creatures, and the smell of pee and sweat. I’ll never forget my classmates, the places, and the hilarious moments. I’ll be trying to forget sleeping in fear, hard mattresses, and the stupid mountain that I lived on.

Overall, it’s been a fun fun fun experience. This journal is almost coming to an end. I’m going to go try to finish packing. I have to give up 3 pairs of shoes because my suitcases are full. *cry*

Gigantic Spiders!

Location | Taichung
I’ve never been so scared in my life. It was like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter come true. GIANT SPIDERS!  Seriously… I was getting my laundry from the 4th floor laundry room and I see this thing move out of the corner of my eye… and then it stops… but then I freeze and take a “closer” look… HOLY SHIT ITS A HUMONGOUS SPIDER. I run out screaming my head off and getting the attention of my grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousins. OMG… It was like 6 inches all the way across!? I think it’s the second largest breed of spiders in the world… but WTF!? WHY IN MY 4TH FLOOR LAUNDRY ROOM!? Now I have to walk around with bug spray… I’M SO SCARED.

Anyway… I can’t wait to come home now.

Yo-Yo Ma LIVE!

Location | Taichung

TODAY I SAW YO-YO MA IN PERSON.

Do you know how awesome that makes me feel!? DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT MOMENT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I am one happy camper right now cuz now I’ve seen Yo-Yo Ma and I feel GREAT!!!

He came to Taiwan for one performance, and it happened in Taichung, Taiwan. My family hometown. Right next to the hospital that my uncle is one of the heads of. IT WAS AMAZING.

You see, I didn’t even have to buy tickets, because concerts here, they put a big screen outside the concert hall so you can see live exactly what is going on inside. So I got to sit on the dirty floor in the front row… WHICH WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT CUZ HE CAME OUTSIDE WITH THE SILK ROAD ENSEMBLE AFTERWARDS! So I got to see Yo-Yo Ma from 10 feet away!!!!! TEN FEET. He’s so cool! I WANNA MEET HIM SOMEDAY!!!!!!

I feel so happy! 😀

Today I might get to see Yo-Yo Ma live and perhaps even meet him.

You have no idea how excited I am. Yo-Yo Ma is one of the few people in the world I want to meet so much. I finally might get to meet him. I’M SO EXCITED!!!

Time and Time Again

Location | Taichung

It’s raining like crazy outside. The kind of rain that goes WHOOOOOSH when it hits the ground because there’s so much hitting the ground at once. The dog is sleeping on the floor next to me and the bird is making an awful lot of noise.

Well tomorrow is the Dragon Boat Festival. My mom has been making a lot of those sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves things (Zhong-zi). I’m kind of hungry for one now, but I’m too lazy to think about it.

Yesterday I went to the Puli Winery to check out the foods and stalls. I got this apple flavored jello, egg tarts, and some passion fruit mochi. All quite tasty. I prefer the egg tarts tho. They’re a differnt kind, they’re called “Portugal style” and the crust is flaky like a pastry, not like the old fashioned kind.

I also went to a lake where we went on paddle swan boats that were old and smelly (like everything else in Taiwan). It was nice to go out on the lake that was all brown…

Anyway, being back in Taichung is nice. It’s not as hectic as Taipei which makes it an ideal place. I love going to the Chung-yo area to just shop and eat food. Mmmm…

Not much more to update on. Bye.

Birds.

Location | Taichung

Altogether during my less than week stay in Taiwan so far, I’ve collected around $600 from relatives. (which is NT$18000)

Its been really hot here. I’ve stayed inside most of the time. I’ve had nothing to do. I watched Ranma. I watched Card Captor Sakura. I saw the movies: I Spy, Ever After, and Predator. I went to my aunt’s on my dad’s side.

Oh, I forgot to mention that in Taiwan, besides the cockroaches, there are these lizards that climb on the walls and they’re white and make weird noises. They scare me.

Ok, I have nothing more to say. Bye.

Inside

Location | Taichung

Its been extremely warm in Taichung these past 2 days. I’m getting pretty stir crazy being inside all day. Its quite boring.

I went to Sogo for a little bit yesterday, but before we left the cleaning lady came… so we had to put the dog, Kudi on the “6th floor” meaning on the 6th shelf from the bottom on the bookshelf. That way he couldn’t climb down and bite the cleaning lady… I didn’t realize where my grandma had put the dog until I went to get my sunglasses and I saw this small white dog sitting on the bookshelf next to the bird… it was SO FUNNY… I’ve never seen anyone do that before…

Anyway, I got some stuff for myself and also a present for someone. Sogo is still as cool as ever, now they have Kinokuniya as their bookstore! I was so excited! Only… they don’t have a good selection of English books AT ALL.

I’m going to go read Forumosa now and see where I can get a plug converter for my laptop. The batteries are almost dead… and there is only a 2-prong outlet here, and I need a 3 prong.
